Arabic–English Religious Translation: A Foreignising Approach A Practical Course الترجمة الدينية من العربية إلى الإنجليزية: نهج تغريبي (مقرر عملي)

This book is a comprehensive practical course in religous translation. This course takes a contrastive approach to analysing the problems encountered in translating authentic Arabic-English religious texts and uses a foreignising approach to solve such difficulties, be they linguistic, cultural or rhetorical.
Aimed at both undergraduates and postgraduates, this guide teaches and encourages students to comprehend the methods, approaches and strategies of translation and then apply them to topics of various non-prophetic and Prophetic religious texts. These topics include the translation of Arabic Islamic proper names, sermons, poetry, fiqh/jurisprudence, sharia/legal texts, Prophetic texts and Quranic texts. 
The numerous exercises and drills within each chapter allow the reader to build the skills and confidence to master religious translation. A wide range of original examples are also provided throughout the book to help with the learning process and ensure it is made as smooth as possible.
This valuable textbook, which provides a solid foundation for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, has been fully and successfully piloted at King Faisal University.

هذا الكتابُ مقررٌ عمليٌّ شامل في الترجمة الدينية من العربية إلى الإنجليزية، في نهج تغريبي. يعتمد المقررُ النهجَ التقابلي وتحليلَ المشاكل والصعوبات التي تُواجَه في ترجمة النصوص الدينية الأصلية من العربية إلى الإنجليزية. ويستخدم أيضًا نهج التَّغريب لحل تلكم الصعوبات؛ سواء كانت لغويةً، أم ثقافية، أم بلاغية.
يستهدف هذا المقرر طلبة الجامعة في مرحلتي البكالوريوس والدراسات العليا على حدٍّ سواء، ويُعلِّمُهم؛ بل يشجعهم على فهم طرائق الترجمة ومناهجها واستراتيجياتها، ثم تطبيقها على موضوعات مختلفة من النصوص الدينية النبوية وغير النبوية. كما تشمل هذه الموضوعات ترجمة أسماء الأعلام العربية الإسلامية، والخطب والمواعظ، والشعر، والفقه، والنصوص القانونية، والنصوص النبوية، والنصوص القرآنية.
